Upular by Pogomix.net

I was introduced to VJing at a event in College end of last year. Artist Rob Davis preformed a live set that won over the audiences applause. His myspace doesn't really expand on his practice, I think it's more to do with his music band project. Check it out though - it's interesting. His work follows a narrative of sort, referencing popular culture, social injustices, and world affairs, and he creates a live mix of audio and visual together. My explanation doesn't do his work justice...you'll just have to check his work out when he's preforming.

Anyway, came across this today. Thought I'd share a little summer sunshine :-)

I have fond memories of this movie, I saw it with my fiance at the movie cinema, a date and a special trip for me! I use to go to the movies every other day when I lived in Hong Kong. I lived practically next to one. Since moving to London, I see a movie in cinema once a year, maybe. I see more plays in theatre! - That's probably a good thing, since there is art funding involved.

Happy Returns

My fiance returned from a 4 week trip. He was missed, and though friends and family are very pleased it was an empowering experience, we're glad to have him back. We shared homemade cake, cream & strawberries, cherries, Cornish ice-cream, and tea.

I've witness the value of friendship, how important it is to be surrounded by friends you will confide and fellowship with. How empowering we are to each other, especially when we share with each other our lives - the good and hard stuff. It opens doors and overrides polite barriers we may have when we're with someone we may not know very well. Generosity is key to friendship. It involves time, energy, love, creativity....and most important Food! I am very blessed, and feel very honoured to share cake and tea with people I call friends!

Icing On Top

A little more decorative today.

While they were being made - I was feasting my eyes on Delia's cooking book. She makes everything look so tasty. I wonder what's it like to bake for charity. Anyway - got a date with the mrs. our weekly dosage of suburban housewives. Since I've recognised it as something special its been even more enjoyable, a blessing - even over a controversial sitcom comedy.

A mother's love

These cupcakes were made out of love for me today!! Thought I'll share that with everyone that reads; you're loved, especially if you don't know it.

Had them after tea! Sun setting. Dog drooling after the cupcake wrapper....

Beginning cycles

Had I mention, by the end of yesterday while helping out in youth group, it occurred to me it was the anniversary of Independence Day for US. Andit so happened I was wearing the only shirt Iown with an American flag - stars and stripes. What are the odds! I was slightly embarrassed, and wondered if I was offending anyone, including myself. Then it struck me how my attitude towards political correctness was an embracing one! Oh my, I'm influenced by British PCness. Anyway, who cares if I'm in Hounslow with a tribute to Americans breaking away from their Mother land - it was a coincidence after all.

The security guard at ALDI (food store) asked if I was Swiss. I thought it a bizarre question. I've had strangers ask me if I was from China or some other Asian country, but that could be expected. My facial f
eatures aren't exactly hard to recognise with East Asia. I asked him why he thought Swiss. Apparently it was due to my attire, which had a small patchwork of the Swiss logo above my chest. By the way, I do like Switzerland, of what I've seen and experienced. That's how I got the shirt, mother bought it for me.

My resident home is shared with a dog. Puppy to be more specific, she's 7 months old. Half lurcher half dalmatian.

She is a destroyer, at times. Since she has been to dog training school, her behaviour is a bit more understood. A real pack hybrid, loves to be with everyone. Her name is Freckle.

Early spring, we had to devise a temporary barrier to prevent her from destroying the vegetable patch. It was a horrendous period. She's just dig everything up, as the soil has soft and manure scented.

It stayed like this much of April and May! Using goal posts, chairs, wood planks, chilli seeds...
I had to start growing seeds in trays rather than directly in the ground.

Fortunately, Robert took me out on countryside trips - away from the dog.

Better late than never

Having started a blog - i thought I'd put a few photos up I'd like to share. I found them today on the SLR camera my parents gave me. A great pass me down gadget! In fact this gives me incentive to start taken photographs again.

I went through a phase of re-evaluating what photographing meant, the process and demand of looking through a pair of lens. How has it evolved our way of seeing things. how true an art form is it. Is it authentic, is it art? Why do I photograph, what am I photographing? Should it be valued more than painting.

For now, I photograph for field research...

Anyway - here are photos my parents took, I believe. Enjoy!

I remember a while ago, i knew someone who seemed really offended by my passionate discussion with some friends about food. Since then I have calmed down. A bit of self control to avoid petty disputes. I love food, i seem to talk about it more now that I've let Hong Kong - as my life isn't as privileged in opportunities to eat great food whenever i like; reasons in there being less affordable place to dine in London. The talking must be part of my obsessive nature...in fact, the only place i feel accepted to talk about food is when I'm with people from Hong Kong - they seem to have the same understanding.....eat! eat! eat!

I know of someone who has to eat before they pray , it's interconnected they explained!

Summer Fellowship!

London has been very fortunate to host sunshine over the last three weeks. My summer is becoming a social one! I'll have barbeque food every weekend - bring out the bratwurst and chicken wings! I've also spent an abundance pottering round the garden.

mmmm...could have another bratwurst now...
